Cut Copy: TAS In Session

To shake up the sound of their fourth album Free Your Mind, Melbourne's Cut Copy reached out to longtime Flaming Lips producer Dave Fridmann. The result is a sunny, expansive, mind-banding dance record that begs for summer festivals and blissful daydreaming on an Ibiza beach.

Cut Copy plays two sold-out shows at Terminal 5 on March 21 and 22, but around the time of Free Your Mind's release, I headed to an East Village studio to chat with Cut Copy—Dan Whiteford (vocals, keys, guitars), Tim Hoey (guitar), Ben Browning (bass) and Mitchell Scott (drums)—about the album's development, songwriting techniques, their affection for The KLF and other sundry fun facts.

No video, but listen to Cut Copy's entire session now in the FUV Vault or on TAS on 91.5 WNYE tomorrow, March 14, at 11a.m. EDT, also streaming online.
