St. Lucia: TAS In Session

St. Lucia's Jean Philipe Grobler has been singing ever since he was a choir boy in Johannesburg, South Africa. His music also took him to Liverpool and he eventually came to New York City, where he now resides.

After experimenting with different styles, Grobler finally found his musical sweet spot a couple years ago when he released his self-titled EP. Pure pop music comes most naturally to Grobler and on his debut album, When The Night, his songs are effusively catchy and fun.

St. Lucia is on tour with Foster the People this April and May, coming to Camden's Susquehanna Bank Center on May 11. Festivals follow through the summer, with one stop in Grobler's native South Africa on June 1 at Pretoria's Park Acoustics.

Grobler and his St. Lucia bandmates brought their charismatic selves to Studio A not long ago. Listen to the entire St. Lucia session in the FUV Vault now or on TAS on 91.5 WNYE today, April 25, at 11a.m. EDT, also streaming online.
