Jamestown Revival - FUV Live - 2014

by Carmel Holt

Childhood friends Jonathan Clay and Zach Chance have always shared a deep love of music, but it wasn't until they were in their 20s that they decided to really make a go of it. They left their small town on Magnolia, Texas and headed out to Austin where they settled down to focus on the craft of songwriting. A trip to the mountains of Utah also played a big part in inspiring the songs on their aptly titled full-length debut, Utah. We’ll hear the beautiful folk harmonies of Jamestown Revival as they perform live in Studio A and I'll talk to the band about their musical journey during this episode of FUV Live.

Birthday Bookends On The Mixtape

by Carmel Holt

We began with a birthday salute to Jeff Tweedy, and concluded the FUV Mixtape with a couple for Elvis Costello, and the requests in between were more cause for celebration. What a fun start to the week!

The New Pornographers are an eight member collective of musicians who have been together for over fifteen years. Their latest work is a strong, new album that looks back to great songwriting from the past and filters this classic pop through their contemporary, indie rock vision. The new album, Brill Bruisers, is the sixth studio effort from The New Pornographers and their first since 2010’s Together.

FREEMAN - FUV Live - 2014

by Russ Borris

Formerly known as "Gene Ween" from the legendary alt-rock band Ween, Aaron Freeman is now creating music using his real name. After spending time in rehab and finding inspiration following the disbandment of Ween, Aaron is back with a new band and album, FREEMAN. The name sets the tone for listeners to hear a more personal side from the artist but does not abandon the carefree and fun sound he is known for.
