About WFUV:

Community Advisory Board

WFUV has invited listeners to serve on a community advisory board, which is a requirement of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB).

Current Status:

The board meets on a quarterly basis and is composed of people who are reasonably representative of the diverse needs and interests of the communities served by the station. The individuals:

  • Have an interest in the programming service provided by WFUV;
  • Are willing to regularly attend board meetings;
  • Serve a three-year term, which may be renewed.

The role of the community board is strictly advisory. It has no authority over the daily management or operation of the station, and it does not have fundraising responsibilities. (Employees of WFUV and Fordham University may not serve on the board.) There is no financial compensation for service.

The community advisory board is designed to:

  • Review the programming goals established by the station;
  • Review the community service provided by the station;
  • Review the impact on the community of significant policy decisions made by the station;
  • Advise the governing board of the station whether the programming and other significant policies of the station are meeting the specialized educational and cultural needs of the communities served by the station.

When vacancies occur, the CAB has a procedure in place to fill them. If you are interested in being considered for future openings, please contact cab@wfuv.org with a letter and resume, or send it to:
