About WFUV:

Community Advisory Board

WFUV is recruiting individuals to serve on a community advisory board, which is a requirement of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB).

Current Openings:

The board will meet on a quarterly basis and will be composed of 12-18 people who are reasonably representative of the diverse needs and interests of the communities served by the station. The individuals will:

  • Have an interest in the programming service provided by WFUV;
  • Be willing to regularly attend board meetings;
  • Serve a three-year term, which may be renewed.

The role of the community board is strictly advisory. It has no authority over the daily management or operation of the station, and it does not have fundraising responsibilities. (Employees of WFUV and Fordham University may not serve on the board.) There is no financial compensation for service.

The community advisory board is designed to:

  • Review the programming goals established by the station;
  • Review the community service provided by the station;
  • Review the impact on the community of significant policy decisions made by the station;
  • Advise the governing board of the station whether the programming and other significant policies of the station are meeting the specialized educational and cultural needs of the communities served by the station.

Interested individuals should send a letter outlining their interest and a resume to:

WFUV will select and notify 12-18 people to serve on the inaugural board. As future openings occur, others will be invited to join the board. Thanks!
