Jimmy Webb

Jimmy Webb - Sunday Breakfast - 2013

by John Platt

For five decades Jimmy Webb's songs have been part of the soundtrack of our lives. On his latest CD, "Still Within the Sound of My Voice," he revisits some of his classics (along with some lesser-known gems) in duets with folks like Lyle Lovett, Joe Cocker, Crosby & Nash, and Brian Wilson. Jimmy paid a return visit to the Sunday Breakfast to perform a couple songs from the CD and to share thoughts about his collaborations, as well as the medical struggles his friends Glen Campbell and Linda Ronstadt have faced.

Jimmy Webb - Words and Music - 2007

by John Platt
Jimmy Webb kept writing when the heyday of professional songwriting ended in the mid 60s, and added landmark tunes like 'Wichita Lineman,' 'Up Up and Away,' and 'MacArthur Park' to the pop catalog. With four decades of songs come a lot of stories, and Jimmy shared a few of both during an interview with John Platt.
