Pieta Brown

Pieta Brown - FUV Live - 2014

by Carmel Holt

She is the daughter of the praised Midwestern folk singer Greg Brown, but Pieta Brown has been making a name for herself for more than a decade now. On her new record, Paradise Outlaw, Pieta delivers her take on modern folk and displays some of her most expressive performances to date. The album was recorded in four days at Justin Vernon's April Base studio in Wisconsin with a stellar supporting cast that includes Vernon, Amos Lee, and even Brown's father, Greg Brown.

Pieta Brown recently stopped by Studio A to talk about and play us some of her new material. We’ll hear that conversation and performance during this episode of FUV Live.

Pieta Brown - Words and Music - 2007

by Claudia Marshall
Pieta Brown has a well-known genetic link to music in her dad, Greg Brown, but he's only one of a family full of music-makers that led her toward songwriting. With the new CD 'Remember The Sun,' she's also taking on production duties, and brought guitarist Bo Ramsey along to share a few of the songs with host Claudia Marshall.
