Hear an FUV Live session with Israel Nash tonight at 9.

Israel Nash (aka Israel Nash Gripka) is a singer, songwriter and guitarist originally from Missouri. He spent time in New York City before settling down in his current home, Dripping Springs, Texas, outside of Austin. His latest album, Israel Nash’s Rain Plans, is his first using the Israel Nash moniker and his third studio album overall.

Like a dusty, dry desert breeze, Israel’s music reveals hints of the slow, intoxicated simmer of Neil Young and Crazy Horse, the early ‘70s psychedelic folk rock of Pink Floyd and present day maestro, Jonathan Wilson. Israel and his band recently visited WFUV and played a couple of smoldering songs for us. I also had the pleasure of speaking with Israel and two of the members of his group.
