It was a magical, nearly 3 hour show, that still has me flying in it’s glory. At the beautiful age of 74 Leonard Cohen brought his amazing body of work to life last night at the Beacon.  In a slim black suit and fedora, and backed by one of the smoothest (but not in a bad way) bands, Leonard poured real emotion into his iconic songs. Often dipping down on one knee or into a full kneel he had the packed house watching his every move.  Leonard was in great voice and backed by the most precise harmony singing I’ve heard in a long time–Sharon Robinson and Webb Sisters. Honor and respect guided the entire evening (except at the intermission bar), and I felt truly lucky to be there. There were numerous standing ovations and Leonard thanked the entire crew by name–even Annie who takes care of their hats.
