Bob Dylan Is Back On Vin Scelsa's "Idiot's Delight" for September 7

by WFUV Staff

Tonight at 8 on "Idiot's Delight"® — which will begin its first hour streaming online to accomodate the Fordham football broadcast — Vin Scelsa continues his exploration of the recently released Bob Dylan: The Bootleg Series, Vol. 10 - Another Self Portrait (1969-1971).

Critically maligned at the time of its 1970 debut (and perhaps still shaking off the shroud of Greil Marcus' scathing review in Rolling Stone), Dylan's Self Portrait is getting a second look, courtesy of this carefully assembled box set which gathers many of the outtakes and unreleased music from Dylan's sessions with David Bromberg and Al Kooper.

Along with Bob Dylan, Vin has also pulled Neko Case, Guy Clark, Rusty Belle, Mark Lanegan and Wild Ponies from the Studio V shelves.

You can always find Vin Scelsa's "Idiot's Delight"® on Saturdays from 8-10 p.m. on 90.7FM, also streaming online.

Want to listen to the show again? You can find it in the FUV archives for two weeks after broadcast.
