Album Cover For Bowie's The Next Day

New Music Monday is a collection of the best new releases in music each week. We share them with you every Monday, every hour on WFUV.

David Bowie- “Where Are We Now?”

This track is the first single off the Thin White Duke’s first album in a decade. Producer Tony Visconti calls the record “classic and innovative,” and we can really hear that with this new song.

Sallie Ford & The Sound Outside- “Party Kids”

Ford returns with her quirky, retro style and another great tune. Yet despite sticking to her signature sound, she seems to have stepped up the production quality; expect to hear a lot more from her in 2013.

Eels- “New Alphabet”

Mark Oliver Everett recently released this new track from his ever-changing project, Eels. Off his upcoming album, Wonderful, Glorious, this song really brings to mind early Beck.

Jim James- “A New Life”

This guy is seriously an old school style rock star. He played every instrument on his new solo album, and you can really hear how amazing that is towards the end of this cool new single.

Richard Thompson- “Good Things Happen To Bad People”

This song is off Thompson’s new album Electric. It’s a fitting title for the record when considering the British folk singer’s past work; this song is pretty rockin’.
