New Music Monday is a collection of the best new releases in music each week. We share them with you every Monday, every hour on WFUV.

Matt Costa- “Good Times”

The folk pop artist moved to Glasgow, Scotland to record this new track and the forthcoming EP it'll be on. Costa says he left his native Southern California to intentionally put himself in an uncomfortable and unfamiliar place, but this track sounds anything but uncomfortable.

Eric Burdon & the Greenhornes- Eric Burdon & the Greenhornes EP

Musician/producer Brendon Benson brought together former Animals frontman Eric Burdon and Cincinnati rock group The Greenhornes for this record. It’s hard to go wrong with a voice like Burdon’s, but you know it’s going to be good with Benson on the faders.

Lake Street Dive- Fun Machine

On this record the quirky band covered five classic songs, including a great version of Jackson 5's “I Want You Back”, and throw in one original. The real twist here comes with Lake Street Dive’s decision to use trumpets in place of guitars.

Lindi Ortega- Cigarettes & Truckstops

Originally from Toronto, but now based in Nashville, Ortega writes country twinged tunes reminiscent of Dolly Parton. Yet the singer-songwriter has a distinctly darker style, both in terms of lyrics and sound.

The Lone Bellow- “Never Need Anybody”

This Brooklyn based band has been making a name for themselves opening for The Civil Wars, as well as with their very well received CMJ shows. “Never Need Anybody” marks the first track released off their self-titled album, which is set for January 22.
