Smashing Pumpkins have a long history as one of the more prominent and important Alternative bands from the early 90's. After a hiatus and various lineup shifts, the Pumpkins have resurfaced as a viable recording act once again. Billy Corgan has always been the cog in this wheel and that's never been more apparent than the last several years. There has been so much controversy and confusion surrounding the band as well. That's what makes this new album all the more unlikely. In short, it's really strong. Corgan sounds rejuvenated as a songwriter and arranger and the album continues to surprise me.
