Songs Don't Save Lives, We Do

In the wake of the tragedy that struck Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT on Friday, there has been one song that has resonated more clearly for me than any other - "Kid's Prayer" by Dan Bern. It's a song that Bern was inspired to write after a high school shooting in Jonesboro, Arkansas in 1998. The only thing sadder than what happened last week is that nothing has been done to end this kind of violence after all these years. People have short memories and soon we'll be distracted from this issue by something else. So, give the song a listen. Download it into your collection. Everytime it comes up in the rotation be reminded that something still needs to be done.
