Although 2013 was a rocky year for some and a robust one for others, musically it offered a bounty of excellent albums for both celebration and contemplation. Tonight on UKNY at 11 some of the stellar British releases I found myself returning to again and again over the past year, courtesy of Joanna Gruesome (pictured), These New Puritans, Dutch Uncles, Karl Hyde, The Duckworth Lewis Method and many others.

Expect a New Year's resolution and a stray Christmas song that was misplaced under some wrapping paper too.

That's UKNY, Saturday nights at 11p.m. EDT, following Vin Scelsa's "Idiot's Delight"® and Marshall Crenshaw's "The Bottomless Pit" on 90.7 WFUV, also streaming online.

Too tired from this week's tinsel-draped activities? You can find UKNY in the FUV archives up to two weeks after broadcast.
