Alejandro Escovedo and band at WFUV

Alejandro Escovedo has long been a favorite here at WFUV. He is a prolific, dynamic, and ever-evolving artist and songwriter. From his punk rock start with the Nuns to his remarkably wide ranging solo work, his recent life chapters find him finally free of hepatitis C and on the other side of a life-threatening experience surviving a hurricane! It all goes into the art, as it always has, with Alejandro.

For his new album, Burn Something Beautiful, he collaborated with Peter Buck and Scott McCaughey. The new songs are a rare combination of sweetness and swagger and a celebration of the rock and roll life. He contemplates mortality and the healing power of love.

Alejandro brought the Burn Something Beautiful band (except for Peter Buck) to Studio A to blaze through three songs from the album.
