Citizen Cope returns with a solid batch of new songs and his guitar in hand for a lucky group of WFUV Marquee members at Rockwood Music Hall. The new album, Heroin and Helicopters, is his sixth and it's classic Cope, featuring master wordplay, irresistible rhythms and catchy melodies.
In this FUV Live set, we hear some new tunes and some favorites in an intimate, engaging, solo performance, and I also talk with Cope (a.k.a. Clarence Greenwood) about the album's title and his path to these songs. Listen tonight at 8 p.m. on WFUV, and to see Citizen Cope in a full-band set, join us on May 3 at the WFUV High Line Bash.
