De Blasio expands affordable housing plan

Mayor de Blasio visited an affordable housing complex in the Bronx earlier today.

He announced that by 2026 New York City is on target to have 300,000 affordable apartments available. de Blasio said that the plan is acheivable because in the last fiscal year 32,000 apartments were financed, the highest amount yet.

The next affordable housing project will be in the Inwood neighborhood of Manhattan.

de Blasio also revealed a new tenant anti- harrasment unit by the housing Preservation and development Department that will take landlords to court if they violate the rights of tenants.
