Disruptions Continue on Metro-North Line
Service on Metro-North's Hudson Line will be disrupted through the weekend after a derailment.
A freight train hauling garbage derailed between stations Thursday night.
The derailment affected service on the line that runs between Manhattan and Poughkeepsie, 80 miles north.
The railroad says reduced southbound service is running between Poughkeepsie and Yonkers. Then buses will connect riders to the subway.
Northbound commuters should take the No. 1 subway to the Van Cortlandt Park-242nd Street station. Bus service will connect them with the Yonkers Metro-North station.
Free transfers will be provided.
Metro-North says it expects to have normal service restored by Monday morning.
The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
