Domestic Violence Ad Campaign in NYC

Domestic Violence Ad Campaign in NYC
New York City ad campaign targets domestic abuse

A public service ad campaign to raise awareness about domestic violence is hitting New York City's subways and buses.

The ads from the Mayor's Office to Combat Domestic Violence are going up Thursday and will run until the end of the year.

The Daily News reports that they are part of a campaign called "That's Abuse."  The goal is to encourage women in abusive relationships to get help because it becomes violent.

The city's subways and buses will be plastered with 1,600 posters. The campaign also includes video and radio spots.

The city says the ads are part of a longtime effort to stop abuse before it starts.
