Elbow - FUV Live - 2014

Rita Houston and Elbow's Guy Garvey
by Rita Houston | 06/09/2014 | 12:00am

Hear an FUV Live session with Elbow tonight at 9.

The British band Elbow has enjoyed tremendous success over the course its 17-year career. They've been awarded The Mercury Prize, A Brit Award, and the Ivor Novello award. Influential magazines like The NME, MOJO, Rolling Stone and Spin have all applauded their work, and the band seems to just get better and better with each album. Their sixth full-length album is The Take Off and Landing of Everything, and it is greatly inspired by lead singer Guy Garvey’s time spent in New York City. The album was released this past March and we loved it so much, we made it FUV's New Dig.

While Elbow was recently Stateside, I caught up with Guy Garvey and Pete Turner from the band and we talked about the new record, their influences and a whole lot more. During this episode of FUV Live, we’ll hear that conversation as well as some live songs from the band's most recent European tour.
