Fordham Almost Defeats A-10#4 GW, Fall 70-67

Another Call Goes Against Rams in Final Seconds

Fordham has had some close games lately, and Saturday's regular season finale against George Washington would be no different. The Rams fell to the Colonials 70-67 in a game where no team had a lead of larger than 5 points.

Branden Frazier shined on senior day, scoring 28 points and hitting big shots in the second half to keep the Rams in the game. Ultimately, GW forced Fordham into missing shots down the stretch with their double team ball pressure. Patricio Garino played an excellent game for the Colonials, forcing turnovers down the stretch.  With GW clining to a 2-point lead with about sic seconds left in the second half, where Garino appeared to fumble the ball out of bounds thanks to pressure from freshamn Jon Severe. But the officials ruled that the ball was out on Fordham. They reviewed the play and didn't see conclusive evidence to overturn the play.

Ryan Canty tied a career high with 16 rebounds. He also poured in 12 points before fouling out late in the second half.

The season is not over for Fordham, as the Rams will take on George Mason in the opening round of the A10 tournament this coming Wednesday at the Barclay's center in Brooklyn. Tipoff is at 7 PM with the One on One pregame report airing at 6:55 on both 90.7 FM and
