Fordham Suffers Heartbreaking Loss to LaSalle, 64-62

Elation to Disappointment in 0.7 sceonds

LaSalle's Tyrone Garland forced up a desprate shot from 12-feet out on the left baseline which was deflected in the air by Fordham Senior Branden Frazier. The buzzer sounded at the same time and it seemed like the Rams had come all the way back from 15 point defecit in the first half to send the game to overtime.

Instead, officials placed 0.7 seconds back on the Rose Hill Gym scoreboard using video review. That proved to be just enough time to Tyreek Duren to take the inbounds pass and score on a wild last second shot while he was fouled on the right baseline.

The loss wasted a brilliant performance by Branden Frazier, who helped Fordham over come a start in which they turned the ball over 5 times and shot 0/5 from the field in the games first five minutes.  Frazier finished with 23 points after a turnover marred performance against VCU.  It also canceled out a game tying jumper by Bryan Smith in the final minute that appeared to help Fordham into an overtime period.
