Former Christie Aide Testifies in George Washington Bridge Scandal Investigation

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's former staffer Matt Mowers testified before a state legislative committee today as the investigation into the George Washington Bridge traffic scandal continues.

State legislators referred to subpoenaed documents like personal emails, phone records, and campaign lists to probe Matt Mowers. But it seems he had a tough time recalling answers to their questions.

Mowers was responsible for getting endorsements for Governor Christie's re-election campaign from mayors in northern New Jersey, like Fort Lee's Mark Sokolich.  But Mowers is insisting he had no involvement in the political plot to close lanes and cause traffic gridlock in Fort Lee last September.

"Today I sit here dumbfounded and disappointed that the actions seemingly taken by a few rogue individuals has tainted the good work that so many people have done on behalf of the state of New Jersey," he said.

The state's investigation continues in two weeks with testimonies from Port Authority's Executive Director Patrick Foye and Commissioner William "Pat" Schuber.
