For Words and Music this month, we're dipping into the Vault to revisit some of our favorite FUV Sessions. This week my pick is our 2007 session with Solomon Burke.

I’ll always remember interviewing the King of Rock and Soul, Solomon Burke.  He returned to WFUV after releasing a country-tinged album, Nashville produced by Buddy Miller.  Dapper as ever, the man just had an aura about him.  It was a great conversation talking about his history in the business, family and his storied career.

Solomon Burke went on to release 3 more inspiring records after Nashvile, before his passing in 2010, but I'l always remember that album for the great memories of him in WFUV's studio A.

We'll air this session tonight at 9, here on 90.7fm but you can listen to it anytime by going into the FUV Vault
