Brooklyn born and raised Gabriel Garzon Montano has created one of the albums of 2017 with his impressive debut, Jardin. He's not exactly a newcomer, since his song "Jungle" was infamously sampled by Drake. But that is not what Gabriel is going to be defined by in the long run. His rich melodic songs bring R&B, funk, and folk to the fore, in a fresh package without pretension. On the album he performs all the instruments; for our session he's on piano, joined by a drummer. We'll talk to Gabriel about his Colombian roots, and about his inspirations that stretch from Rimbaud to J. Dilla.
