Inauguration Protests Outside Trump Tower

Outside Trump Tower, New York City council members took to the streets today in protest of President Trump's inauguration.

A symphony of car horns and protestor's voices erupted on Fifth Avenue. The outburst started after council members sat in the middle of the street during the moment of Trump's inauguration.

Seven people were arrested in total.

"We have to resist from day one," Brooklyn Council Member Jumaane Williams said. "We cannot and will not wait until [Donald Trump's] done the things he's said he's going to do. We want to make sure folks are empowered to disrupt a system that is injust."

The crowd cheered alongside Williams as he was loaded into a police van.
