Jill Sobule at WFUV

Jill Sobule isn't a fan of nostalgia — and Nostalgia Kills is the blunt name of the New York singer and songwriter's first album in nine years. Despite her antipathy for looking back, song by song Sobule revisits some key moments in her life that have shaped her into the person she is today.

Choosing from about 100 songs that she'd written, Sobule and producer Ben Lee narrowed that prolific list down to 15 tracks that made it onto the record. She also recruited some good friends to join her on the album, like X's John Doe, Richard Barone, and That Dog's Petra Haden.

We'll hear more from Sobule about her very welcome return — plus a live performance — during this episode of FUV Live.
