Anniversaries are a great opportunity to revisit and celebrate the past. In the case of Joseph Arthur's third album, Redemption’s Son, its 15th anniversary offered a chance to unearth previously unreleased material and for Arthur to reunite with his old label, Real World Records, and reissue a special edition of the album.

Over the course of his now 20-year career, the wildly prolific Arthur has released 14 albums and 11 EPs under his own name. He's also been a part of the collaborative projects Fistful of Mercy (with Ben Harper and Dhani Harrison) and RNDM (with Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam).

It was Peter Gabriel who gave Arthur his start, making him the first rock signing to his Real World Records imprint back in 1997. On Arthur’s return to Studio A, he played us a couple of songs from Redemption’s Son, and talked to me about taking the journey back in time to 2002 to bring those songs into the present.
