Lee Ann Womack and band at WFUV

Lee Ann Womack has enjoyed the rare blessing of a bonafide crossover hit: her 2000 single, “I Hope You Dance,” raised expectations. The possibility of a string of chart-topping hits came with the certainty that formula would rule.

Womack followed her heart and has beat a path back to the dusty backroads of her East Texas home, the influences that sparked her career, and the music that will only grow in meaning. Her new expression of that path is her new album, The Lonely, The Lonesome & The Gone.  With expressive originals and inspired covers, the album keeps the music and the message simple: to frame Womack's own nuanced and complex performance,  just like life itself.

We welcomed Lee Ann Womack to Studio A for three new songs and conversation on FUV Live.
