Mayer Hawthorne: The Cutting Room 2016

On the eve of a big MSG gig opening for Hall & Oates, Mayer Hawthorne and his band rolled into The Cutting Room with new songs to debut. I've been a fan of his from the start, and the new album, Man About Town (which is out April 8), broadens his core retro-soul sound with some slow jams and fun '80s elements.

Songs like "Cosmic Love" and "Love Like That" came to life live with high spirit and style. In the interview segment, we talked about his start in music as a DJ, his side projects (Tuxedo!), and his love of fashion and Sinatra.
