The Met's website gets a new look.

It's not just the galleries that get renovations at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It's the website, too.

The museum announced Monday that it had relaunched its website, .

The redone site has a new look. It offers visitors the chance to browse through more than 340,000 items from the collection.

The project was three years in the making. The museum says the website launched in 1995 and hadn't been thoroughly updated since 2000.

Among the new additions to the site are floor plans and suggested itineraries.

There are also descriptions of the galleries, highlighting the artworks they contain.
