Morning Brief: July, 7

3,2,1, and lift off. American astronaut Kate Rubins, Japanese astronaut Takuya Onishi, and Russian cosmonaut Anatoly Ivanishin took off for space last night. It is Rubin and Onishi's first mission, while Ivanishin has been on a prior mission. The three are headed towards the International Space Station. The space-goers hope to arrive to the station by Saturday June 9 at around 12 AM. Their entrance into the space station will be shown live on NASA TV. Rubins said she plans to conduct an experiment when she is in space. She said, "We're going to be looking at dynamics of fluid, and there are even a lot of physics experiments and trying to understand the low-Earth-orbit environment of the space station."  [full article]
