New Exhibit at Grand Central Provides Underground Vision of Future

The New York Transit Museum uncovers the East Side Access Project.

The New York Transit Museum at Grand Central opened a new exhibit today that gives commuters a glimpse of what's going on underneath them.  "The Next Level" exhibit is a collection of 55 photographs by Japanese Artist Hiroyuki Suzuki detailing the construction of the East Side Access Project.

The project will connect the Long Island Rail Road to a new station 18 stories under Grand Central. Museum goer Scott Johnson says the exhibit gives a new perspective on the East Side Access Project

"The fact that all this is going on right underneath our feet is amazing to me.  I can't believe it."

Unlike previous exhibits, Director of Exhibition Rob de Bagno says "The Next Level" will celebrate Grand Central's future instead of its historic past.
