A "One on One" with Coach Tom Pecora
By Chris Marasco
Yesterday in One on One Kenny and I were joined by Tom Pecora, Fordham Men’s basketball coach. During the interview we had a chance to ask him about recruits for next year, injury updates for Chris Gaston and Devon McMillan, and the team’s upcoming games.
One of the things that Pecora stressed was the fact that his squad has fewer home games than usual this season. Fordham plays their first game at Rose Hill this season against the Manhattan Jaspers on Thursday at 7:30 PM, and don’t return home after that until December 23rd.
The coach also talked about the overall mentality of the team and how he felt that the addition of walk-on’s brought a blue collar work ethic to the squad.
As the questions from fans piled in, the coach was more than willing to answer anything and everything regarding his team. His message to the fans was to remain calm about the poor start, and to remain patient.
The Rams have a young team and are still learning to grow with each other. When conference play rolls around don’t be surprised if Fordham begins to make a little noise.
