One on One's Rookie Report: Week 3

Evan Engram was the lone bright spot in the Giants' Week 2 performance, showing Giants fans why he was drafted so highly. Although Giants fans are looking for more blocking for Eli, Engram should not be blamed for being drafted by the Giants as a passing option. All Engram can do is continue to be a dangerous recieving option and if he further develops his blocking, Giants fans will only appreciate him more.

Marcus Maye yet again was the brightest spot on the Jets defense by racking up seven tackles for the second week in a row. Although Jamal Adams has the character and superior draft position that would indicate him as the leader of the Jets defense, Maye appears to be the tone setter. Although he isn't a hard hitter, he is a strategic tackler.

Deshaun Watson showed improvement from his debut and with almost 70 rushing yards along with over 200 passing yards, the Texans can't complain. Since Matt Schaub, the Texans have been looking for a steadying presence at Quarterback and although we don't know yet the extent of Watson's potential, we can at least say that with him at quarterback, the Texans at the very least can go deep into the playoffs and are Super Bowl Contenders.

Kareem Hunt yet again was electric for the Chiefs from both the backfield and as a receiving option despite compiling less than 200 total yards this season. Hunt's two rushing touchdowns helped the Chiefs ice the game and increase his total touchdowns to five in his first two games of his career. Hunt doesn't need to be this consistent of a stat stuffer, but if he simply averages his yardage total, he'll have a long and productive career.

With over 100 return yards, 1 tackle in open space, and a special teams touchdown, Jamal Agnew was the man to ice the game for the lions. His punt return touchdown broke the Giants' spirit and gave the Lions more than a two touchdown lead over the Giants in the third. Anytime a rookie is the reason for ensuring a win, the team must recognize his potential. Look for Agnew to be a surprise impact player for the Lions in the present and future.
