One Week Before Election, Mayor de Blasio Pledges $150 Million for Seniors

New York City's population of seniors had increased by almost 20 percent between 2005 and 2015, according to the city comptroller's office. Mayor de Blasio announced his new plan today to house the city's growing number of seniors, pledging $150 million to make apartments more senior friendly and promising 4,000 new affordable apartments. The plan comes one week before New Yorkers go to the polls to elect the next mayor.
