PA Police Arrest 2 for Beating of 2 Gay Men in NYC
Two men have been arrested in connection with the beating of two gay men in Manhattan.
The assault early Friday took place a few blocks from where a gay couple was attacked Sunday.
A spokesman for the Port Authority says Friday's attack happened at 5 a.m. near the 33rd Street PATH station.
Spokesman Steve Coleman said two men were approached by a group of about five men who shouted anti-gay slurs and beat them.
Port Authority officers saw the assault and broke it up.
Coleman says several of the attackers fled but officers arrested two of them.
Both victims suffered severe facial injuries and were treated at Bellevue Hospital. One of the victims underwent eye surgery.
Coleman says the suspects will be charged with felony assault as a hate crime.
