Pure Bathing Culture at WFUV

Daniel Hindman of Pure Bathing Culture describes the band's new album, Pray For Rain, as “a passage between two places, rather than an arrival." And while this is a wonderfully apt description of the progression on these new songs, the past couple of years of touring has visibly solidified the band and a strong confidence shines through, as evidenced in Sarah Vesprille’s rich vocals.

In Pure Bathing Culture's return to Studio A, we’re treated to a couple of new songs, stripped back to their essence, but no less compelling. Hindman and Vesprille tell us that the ability to play their songs this way is relatively new. We also discuss how working with producer John Congleton helped them see themselves in new ways. In addition, they discuss how working as a couple, they find that their songs eventually reveal themselves to be powerful tools for communication and connection, all while making certain that they continue to have fun.
