Rams Comeback to Defeat George Mason
There were several times when Rams fans probably thought another winnable game had gotten away on Wednesday night. Not this time. Fordham (8-10, 1-4 A10) overcame an 11-point first half deficit and a 10-point second half hole to defeat the Patriots of George Mason (7-12, 0-5 A10), 76-70.
The battle of the Atlantic 10's two remaining winless teams in conference play turned into an entertaining matchup late. Both teams had close encounters previously, but neither had been able to break through for their elusive first conference win of the year.
Branden Frazier's poor shooting effort continued from the Saint Louis game in the first half, going a total of 43 minutes without a made field goal before an early second half bucket got the senior going. Frazier finished with 22 points. Jon Severe was much more efficient in this game than games past, scoring 21 points on 7/17 shooting.
Sherrod Wright was impressive for the Patriots, but his 21 points were enough to snap his team's six game losing skid.
