Scholarship for Camden Grads Goes Unused
New Jersey may qualify for unused UPenn Scholarship.
A donor gave the University of Pennsylvania more than $29,000 in 1966. The purpose was to help send male public school students from Camden to the nearby Ivy League school.
It's unclear when it was last used, according to the Courier-Post.
And it's rare for Penn students to be eligible. Penn says just three male public school graduates from the city have attended in the last 20 years.
Penn has persuaded courts to make more students eligible by allowing female students to apply. And if no one from Camden qualifies, any public school student from New Jersey would be eligible.
The fund has grown to $286,000.
