In case you haven't heard, the so-called five-second rule has been invalidated. A new report, "Is the Five-Second Rule Real?" in the journal of the American Society for Microbiology concludes that dropped food becomes contaminated the second it hits the floor. So as a public service, we'll spin a set of songs mentioning seconds. Count on that after 9am.

Here's what we played:

Joan Osborne "Who Divided"

Jefferson Airplane "3/5 of a Mile in 10 Seconds"

Youssou N'Dour & Neneh Cherry "7 Seconds"

Whiskeytown "10 Seconds"

U2 "Seconds"
