Some New Yorkers Respond to Governor Cuomo's Re-Election

New York Governor Cuomo cruised to re-election Tuesday with 54% of the vote, but some New Yorkers think he's got a lot more work to do. WFUVs Katie Garrity talked with people on the streets of Manhattan about the results.
Governor Cuomo's enacted a number of initiatives to improve education including one to implement universal pre-k statewide and another to reward good teachers. But Valerie Smith of Lower Manhattan says she wants more out of his second term.

"I want to see more of the satellite schools," she said.  "I also want to see less of the non-functioning schools still working.  I also want to see them find an easier, quicker way of getting rid of teachers that are not doing their jobs."

Education's not the only issue on New Yorkers' minds. Several people say they also want Governor Cuomo to increase the minimum wage and create more jobs in the state.
