Stonewall Inn Vigil for Orlando

Thousands rallied last night outside the historic Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village to stand in solidarity with the victims of Sunday’s mass shooting in Orlando.  Frank Jay is an openly gay man who has been shaken by the attacks.

“Gay bar is where I find refuge, it is where I can be myself, it’s where I bring my friends to.  So knowing that someone took away that privilege or that gift from us hurts a lot,” he said.

But, he says Orlando won’t keep him from going out, and will only strengthen the LGBTQ community.

Governor Cuomo shared a similar message.

“We believe in New York that an attack on any of us is an attack on all of us,” he said.

The governor also called upon the federal government to pass, “sensible gun control.”
