Sweetheart 2014 is a brand new compilation album celebrating Valentine's Day, coming this Friday. It is the fifth Valentine's Day collection in a series of albums created for Starbucks. Sweetheart 2014 features 13 brand new songs performed by some of today's top alternative / indie rock artists. This eclectic group of artists includes Vampire Weekend, Phosphorescent, the Head and the Heart, Valerie June, Bahamas and Thao and the Get Down Stay Down. Alongside some of these newer acts are favorites like Ben Harper, Jim James, Fiona Apple, Brandi Carlile, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings and Beck. Sweetheart 2014 finds this fine array of talent covering some of music's essential songwriters and favorite bands. Songwriters like John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Harry Nilsson, Willie Nelson and Bob Marley are saluted, along with a diverse array of bands ranging from the Carter Family to Fleetwood Mac to Mazzy Star. Each song is a loving tribute to influential songwriters from a gathering of today's best artists.
