Since tonight, August 29, marks the first of three consecutive "supermoons" — a lunar perigee of less than 223,690 miles bringing it close to earth — it seemed a fine time to return to a past UKNY that orbited space and explored the celestial realm. Also, I'm on a tiny summer break!

So tonight at 11, a show inspired by Public Service Broadcasting's compelling and fascinating second album, The Race For Space, which delves into the competitive U.S. and Soviet space programs stretching from 1957-1972. Expect other starry-eyed musicians gazing upon earth, kicking up lunar dust and exploring the universe too, like Blur, David Bowie, Cate Le Bon and more.

Are you outside admiring the supermoon yourself? You can catch up to UKNY on demand in the FUV weekend archives up to two weeks after broadcast.
