The sublime art-pop bliss of Field Music, the band led by siblings David and Peter Brewis, never quite receives the Stateside love and attention it deserves. (They're somewhat of a cult favorite in their native U.K. too, but do sell out venues and were nominated for a Mercury Prize back in 2012.)

The brothers' effervescent seventh album, Open Here, reflects on fatherhood, the uncertain future, and a Brexit-hobbled Britain, lifted by the band's deft flourishes of retro-pop majesty that cast a reverent eye on production elements of XTC, ELO, David Bowie, and even early Genesis.

On UKNY at 11, something from Field Music's Open Here, released yesterday, plus new treats from Ultimate Painting, Erland Cooper, and two bands featuring members of Fat White Family and Childhood: Warmduscher and Insecure Men. Also, a dense, luminous single from Brisbane's shoegazey Harriette Pilbeam, who records as Hatchie.
