Have you found your song of the summer yet? A perfect single that puts you in that dreamy, hazy, and mellow frame of mind? (And trust me, I know it's particularly difficult this year.)

If not, I've got a strong contender on tonight's UKNY at 11 from the Nottingham-slash-London band Childhood — a languid, breezy track found on the band's forthcoming second album Universal High, released on July 21. I've played it once on the show a few weeks back and I'm completely smitten. A brilliant summertime song is timeless and can span generations; Childhood's Ben Romans-Hopcraft has effortlessly tapped into the sweet spot of Seventies-era soul on this shimmering gem. I think Curtis Mayfield would approve.

Also,  new releases from Everything Everything, Public Service Broadcasting, Luke Sital-Singh, This is the Kit, and the Icelandic quintet Mammút.

And I'm burying the lede, but UKNY begins its fifth year on FUV over this long holiday weekend! Thank you for listening to this weekly late night journey, exploring emerging and more established British (and global) artists.

Away this weekend? You can find UKNY on demand immediately after broadcast via the Weekend Archives at wfuv.org.
