As Londoners peacefully unite after a particularly difficult and sad week, UKNY at 11 finds comfort in new releases from some favorite UK artists like Laura Marling, Jealous of the Birds (the Northern Irish artist Naomi Hamilton), Charlotte Hatherley, Ride and C Duncan. Also, the fantastic Australian band Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever (a Commonwealth Cut fave) played three gigs in New York this past week, so it's a fine time to go deeper into their excellent new EP, The French Press.

And since Harrow-born Elton John is this week's FUV Essentials artist (and by default, Sleaford's Bernie Taupin too), a chance to play one of their more epic songs that is perhaps more timely today than when it was released over 40 years ago.

Missed the show? You can stream UKNY in the FUV Weekend Archives for two weeks after broadcast.
