While this long weekend might be more a staycation than a vacation — on UKNY at 11 tonight, take a quick trip to Oxford, England via that city's vibrant music scene. While Oxford is certainly known for its revered university, its medieval spires and handsome dun-colored buildings, and a rich array of museums and libraries  — plus those Harry Potter connections —it's also the birthplace and hub of some extraordinary rock bands.

So tonight's show will take that hour-by-train trip from London to Oxford with some of that city's music heroes, like Radiohead, Ride, Swervedriver, Gaz Coombes, and newcomers Lacuna Common and Candy Says. It's all anchored by an FUV Live session with Foals and an interview with frontman Yannis Philippakis who discusses the climate crisis that prompted the dystopian themes of the group's new two-part album, Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost. In addition, the band plays three songs exclusively for FUV — two from Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost, Part 1 and an older track from 2013's Holy Fire.

Catch up to UKNY at anytime, on demand, in FUV's Weekend Archives.

Songs played:

1. Ride, “Future Love,” This is Not a Safe Place
2. Radiohead, “Airbag (Remastered), OK Computer/OKNOTOK
3. Lacuna Common, “Not the Same,” single
4. Swervedriver, “Drone Lover,” Future Ruins
5. Candy Says, “Beautiful Feeling,” single
6. Foals, “My Number (Live for FUV),” originally from Holy Fire
